Muay athletes to fight in HCM City

HÀ NỘI -- The second Uni Super Championship Muay Thai Tournament will be held at the Nguyễn Du Gymnasium in HCM City on Sunday.

The international competition attracts fighters from six countries along with those from the hosts.

According to Giáp Trung Thang, general secretary of the HCM City Muay Department, after the first successful edition, the tournament had become an official event in Việt Nam.

Vietnamese athletes include No  一 fighter Nguyễn Trần Duy Nhất and high-ranking Lê Hoàng Đức and Huỳnh Hà Hữu Hiếu. 

Nhất will defend his lightweight bell against Phimwong Kitty of Thailand. Đức will be up against China’s Ye Ying Dong in the men’s flyweight while Hiếu will fight Thai Nitinart Plabplerng in the women’s flyweight category. -- VNS
